U16 HURLERS IN CHAMPIONSHIP ACTION
Kanturk U16 hurlers face Kilworth in the quarter final of the 'B' county championship at Blarney on Saturday 11th September at 2.30pm. Kanturk defeated Millstreet at Newmarket on Sunday last 5th September by 4-12 to 2-16 to qualify for the county championship and will be hoping for an extended run.

Kanturk Junior 'B' hurlers face Newmarket in the Duhallow Championship at Newmarket on Wednesday 8th September at 6.30pm.
MINOR FOOTBALLERS LOSE IN SEMI FINAL
Kanturk Minor footballers lost to Croke Rovers in the Semi Final of the Duhallow Championship at Newmarket on Friday 3rd September on a 0-12 to 2-07 score line. Two Croke rovers goals in the opening half saw Kanturk play catch up and even though our lads lead by a point at one stage they went down to a one point defeat at the end.
JUNIOR 'B' FOOTBALLERS lose in CHAMPIONSHIP .
Kanturk Junior 'B' Footballers lost to Ballydesmond in the Duhallow Junior 'B' football championship on Saturday 4th September on a 1-07 to 1-16 score line. Ballydesmond with home advantage were always on top and ran out worthy winners.

Kanturk's Aidan Walsh was choosen as the Cork's 96 & 103fm Supreme Sports star of the year at the annual awards cermony at the RochesTown Park hotel on Monday 30th November. The awards, in their 6th year, bring together the 12 monthly winners from all strands of GAA activity in the county. Aidan won the November monthy award for his displays with Duhallow U21 hurlers march to County Championship success. What a year 19 year old Aidan has had. Beginning with winning the Inter Varcity All-Ireland freshers hurling with CIT, Aidan went on to gardiner Munster medals with Cork at u21, Junior and Senior Football as well as playing a pivotal roll in Cork's U21 football All-Ireland success. Aidan's talents were regonised by the county senior selectors and he gained game time in Cork's Munster final victory over Limerick and was part of the panal for Cork's All-Ireland final joust with the Kingdom. In the provincial scene, Aidan was part of the Munster Railway cup team that contested the inter provincial final against Ulster at Roislip recently. Aidan was also choosen as player of the final in Cork Junior footballers win over Clare at Pairc Ui Chaoimh. On the domestic scene Aidan played a staring roll in Kanturk Junior footballers ending their 47 year famine winning the Duhallow championship for the first time since 1962. Turning over to hurling, Aidan was a pivitol player with Duhallow U21 hurlers march to Cork County Championship success for the first time since 1982. What a year its been for this outstanding young man who has his sights set on gaining a regular place on the Cork senior football team in the years ahead and lead them to All-Ireland glory.

THE FAMINE IS OVER
The famine is over after Kanturk Junior footballers won the Duhallow Junior Football final on Sunday 4th October at Boherbue by defeating Rockchapel on a 1-12 to 1-06 scoreline. It was a great day with the summer weather adding to the occasion and everything was so well organised by the host club. The long wait since 1962 is now over and a hearty congratulations to Padraig Kearns and his team management and especially to the team who were abily led by Captain John Healy.

DUHALLOW U21 HURLERS WIN COUNTY FINAL FOR 1st TIME SINCE 1982
Duhallow U21 hurlers defeated Ballinhassig in the Cork County Final played at Pairc Ui Rinn on Saturday 14th November on a scoreline of 0-18 to 1-05. Duhallow always held the upperhand and won back the title last held in 1982 when Kanturk's Tom Walsh was captain. On this occassion Kanturk's John Mc Loughlin hoisted the cup on behalf of the Duhallow side. Duhallow's victory brushed away the heartbreak of last years final defeat to Glen Rovers, after a replay. Well done to all involved from Kanturk GAA.
